Item Description
This showy and excellent calcite crystal plate is highlighted by the two, well-placed, pseudocubic rhombs. The largest is 2.0 x 2.0 x 1.9 cm. The translucent, highly lustrous crystals have lightly frosted faces and light brown sugar color. The large rhomb is pristine and the secondary rhomb has only a very gently bruised corner. This is another calcite habit from the uncommon La Junta area of Colorado, where the calcites are cracked open from nodules/concretions in the Cretaceous-aged Pierre Shale. Ex Miller Calcite Collection # 3740.
