Calcite & Marcasite on Dolomite (Soregaroli Coll.)

Item Description

A very sculptural combination from this famous, remote underground Pb-Zn mine north of the Arctic Circle, that closed in 2002. A nifty 2.0 cm cluster of gemmy to translucent, golden-amber to creamy calcite crystals is aesthetically attached to the dramatic dolomite crystal matrix. The striking, ribbed "brain" and the rest of the dolomite is preferentially peppered with tiny sparkly marcasite crystals. Very fine and showy combination material for the locale from the Art Soregaroli Collection.
