Item Description

A showy and attractive association specimen featuring a 4.6 cm, beautiful baby pink colored scalenohedral manganese-bearing Calcite group sitting aesthetically on a matrix comprising fine, sharp, lustrous, metallic "cogwheels" of Bournonite associated with sharp, dark brown Sphalerite and minor Pyrite. Very aesthetic and good quality for the material. The Calcite has a small contact on one end, so it's not completely doubly-terminated, but it's close. This mine is well-known for its superb pink manganoan Calcites, and specimens associated with Bournonite are hard to find in such eye-catching display specimens. This is certainly from an older discovery, circa late 1970s or early 1980s. Priced at $950.
