Item Description
This is a wonderful cabinet sized display specimen from the little known Atacocha Mine in Peru featuring scalenohedral crystals of Calcite measuring up to 1.4 cm long sitting atop a previous generation of rhombic Calcite overgrowing prismatic GEM QUALITY colorless Quartz crystal matrix. The piece is labeled as containing manganese, and I can see a very faint pink hue to the crystals, but it's not terribly strong. Overall, the piece is in excellent shape, with very little damage. It's so showy and three-dimensional, and is a wonderful example from an obscure locality. Valued at $850.
