Item Description

An interesting manganese-bearing Calcite specimen from the Kalahari Manganese Field (no exact locality given) in South Africa. Dozens of sharp, well-formed, translucent, soft pink colored trigonal crystals measuring up to about 7 mm are sitting on a reddish-brown matrix. Most of the Calcites are completely pristine and look beautiful up close. Ex Charlie Key collection. Charlie is arguably the most successful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
