Calcite (Manganese-bearing)

Item Description

Here we have a lovely "pagoda"-style group of light pink colored manganese-bearing Calcite from Chenzhou, Hunan, China featuring stacked crystals of highly compressed rhombic crystals, free of matrix. The piece does show attractive red fluorescence under SW UV light. The display side of the specimen is in good condition, with only a few small blemishes, but it is contacted around the side/back where it was removed from the pocket wall. These pieces came out in the early 2000s, and are seldom available on the market today, so good specimens are not nearly as plentiful as they once were.
