Item Description
A lovely Calcite specimen from the Gyudyurska Mine in Bulgaria featuring 2 generations of crystallization. The primary focus are the beautiful "feather"-like aggregates of manganese-bearing Calcite which are comprised of narrow elongated scalenohedra, sitting atop a previous generation of off-white rhombic Calcite on matrix. The "feather" groups of Calcite measure up to 1.5 cm long. These crystals are actually manganese-bearing as they show slight pink-orange fluorescence under SW UV light. Very showy and attractive up close, and one of the few of this particular style we've had to offer from the Gyudyurska Mine.
