Item Description
Sharp, well-formed, light pinkish colored rhombic crystals of Calcite from an undisclosed locality in Chihuahua (most likely Naica, but possibly from Santa Eulalia). The surface of the crystals shows a slight "drusy" or "sugary" appearance. The back (cleaved) of the piece piece shows a layered growth with a somewhat pearly interior that gives way to a more translucent light pink hue on the outer edge. The label notes that both left-handed and right-handed rhombs are present on the specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10462). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
