Item Description
Classic combination of Fluorite and Calcite from the famous Cave-In-Rock district of Illinois. The largest of the Fluorites in this cluster is 3.9 cm across. The back is slightly contacted, as is the small Fluorite at one end. The bottom of the large crystal is complete, finely-stepped growth, and it has a wonderful, deep purple color. There are dozens of GEMMY, golden Calcites on the Fluorites. Many are doubly terminated, and the luster is superb. The Calcites' complex habit really complements the gemminess, making them look like cut stones. The largest is 2.1 cm, and they range down to several mm. The Calcites are much better in person, even. Overall, this is a very good, aesthetic specimen from one of the great mineral localities of the world.
