Item Description

Here we have a fine example of Calcite included with Copper from one of the most historic and classic mining districts in the United States. This is a well crystallized specimen featuring fine sharp, lustrous, gemmy scalenohedral crystals of Calcite included with bright metallic (un-oxidized) native Copper. The Copper inclusions give the Calcite crystals a lovely pinkish-orange hue. The largest Calcite measures 1.1 cm, and if you look closely, small, sharp, lusrous, gemmy, trapezohedral crystal of Analcime can be seen on the piece as well. These specimens are becoming more and more difficult to find on the market today, and this is a nice display specimen of this most highly sought after material from Michigan. These specimens are highly sought after by collectors due to their uniqueness and rarity on the market. Valued at $900.
