Item Description
Calcite crystals included with malachite are certainly one of the rarest and most desirable species from the famous mines at Bisbee. Pretty green malachite is included in sharp glassy scalenohedrons and coats much of the gossan matrix on this showy, old-time and excellent example. The large, well-placed vug at the top of piece is filled with scalenohedrons, including the beautiful, 1.4 x 1.2 cm, trident cluster of malachite-included crystals. Other vugs host more calcites, some included with malachite. Yes, there are scattered bruised and broken crystals, but this remains a rich and showy example of this rare and desirable calcite varietal.
