Calcite incl. w/ hematite (Tom Wolfe Coll.)

Item Description

A jagged mountain range of sharp, stepped-growth calcite scalenohedrons beautifully accented with iron oxides on this dramatic specimen from this less well-known Tunisia locale. This mine is better known for striking hematite-tinted celestine specimens. Calcite of this form and quality is very uncommon from here. The tip of the right crystal is gently cleaved, but is certainly only a modest detraction to this striking calcite from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection.
