Item Description

An impressive, exceptional and sculptural large matrix fossilized mollusc (Mercenaria Permagna) from Florida. The striking very well preserved 10.7 cm two-sided mollusc has a striking and beautiful chamber filled with gemmy amber calcite scalenohedrons. The impressive reef rock matrix is littered with shell fragments. Ghostly white calcite fluorescence. Outstanding material. This is Pleistocene Epoch (1.8 MY - 10,000 years BP). The piece displays beautifully without aid from both sides. A top-notch specimen from this locale! BIG size, please note - much larger than you normally see
