Item Description
PLEASE NOTE: This specimen is labeled as coming from the "Giselia Mine", but I cannot find a listing for this exact locality in any database. It could possibly be from the Marienschacht Mine, but if anybody out there has information as to where this piece is from, please let us know. With that said, this miniature features several, prismatic scalenohedral crystals of very pale golden (virtually white), translucent Calcites measuring up to 9 mm long which are sitting in a vug of cubic yellow Fluorite on matrix. Several of the Calcites are pristine and fully terminated, but there are some contacted crystals around the edges of the vug. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1571). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
