Calcite (hollow "hoppered" crystal)

China has produced a great number of superb and unique Calcite specimens in recent years, and the pieces from Wenshan are no exception. This specimen is a beautiful display piece showing a skeletal/hoppered, "flower"-shaped, scalenohedral form with good gemminess, luster and appearance. The center of the piece is actually hollow and actually goes nearly all the way to the base of the crystal. This piece is in great shape overall, complete on all sides, and truly displays well from any direction. A wonderful Calcite specimen to add to any Chinese suite or Calcite collection.
