Item Description
A striking, sculptural pair of curved cave calcite helectite "antlers" from mid-2000s finds at the Holbrook Mine at Bisbee. Malachite inclusions give the glassy, translucent, densely intergrown, stacked crystals their pretty green hue. The long helectite looks like a long-necked dragon with a spike on its nose. Secondary larger rhombs, with less color, especially at the tip of the largest "antler" and at the base, may be aragonite. The large antler is pristine and the small antler has a broken tip. This remains an exceptional 360-degree example of Bisbee malachite-included calcite helectites from the 100 Level of the Holbrook Mine. Ex Karl Warning Collection and aquired from Rob Lavinsky in May, 2005.
