Item Description
Bizarre looking twisted, bubbly, helectitic (cave growth) calcite stalactites from an unknown Chihuahua locale. This piece has surreal 360-degree sculptural presence. The nubby clusters of tiny brown crystals (calcite?) on the terminations add real pizzazz and contrast to the piece. A unique looking old cave calcite from the Kay Robertson Collection # 2751 and acquired in late 1962 or early 1963. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). RARE style Mexican calcite and displays very well without aid.
