Item Description

A striking and very rare cabinet combination specimen from an uncommon and extinct lead mine - Korsnas, Finland. A striking, 6.3 cm, glassy, greenish-gray, doubly terminated calcite crystal is aesthetically set on the elongate matrix covered with gemmy, greenish-yellow apophyllite crystals. A nifty cluster of sharp, pearlescent, grayish-white harmotome crystals and smaller calcite scalenohedrons are super accents. One termination of the calcite is gently cleaved and the other is gently contacted, but are certainly modest detractions. Yellow apophyllite is rare, worldwide. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
