Item Description

Calcite is one of the most well-known mineral species in the world, with a myriad of colors, varieties, styles and crystal habits. These classic specimens from the Sokolovskoe Mine are some of the most iconic Calcites to come out in the last 25 years. These beautiful golden color rhombs are easily recognizable with their wonderful form and gemminess. This small cabinet specimen features gorgeous, satiny, GEMMY, golden-yellow color twinned rhombohedra of Calcite with only a tiny bit of matrix. The piece is almost completely undamaged on the top / display side (I can see a few tiny "flea bites"), and only has a small separation mark on the back where it detached from the pocket wall. Great quality, and difficult to find on the market these days. Valued at $2,000.
