Item Description

Calcite is found in thousands of localities around the world, but some places stand out for their impressive specimens. The pieces from the Sokolovskoe Mine are some of the most beautiful and fine quality examples of Calcite found in the last 30 years. This miniature specimen features a good sized, gorgeous, satiny, WATER CLEAR, golden-yellow color twinned rhombohedral group of Calcite sitting on a tiny bit of matrix. The piece is undamaged, save a few tiny "flea bites". The Calcite is completely transparent and it is highlighted by the beautiful small modifying faces along the edges of the crystals. Valued at $900. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell. Tom is a mineralogist and mineral collect who works with us here at The Arkenstone.
