Item Description

Glassy, translucent, hexgonal calcite crystals are very aesthetically clustered on the galena matrix on this classic and excellent old-timer from the famous mines at St. Andreasberg. The striking, dominating, stout pokerchip-style crystal is 2.6 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm and all of the calcites are pristine. Classic old-time combination material from 1800s, as the last mines closed in 1910. The piece has a fine provenance, having been in the Smithsonian Museum and Howard Belsky Collections. Pink fluorescence.
