Item Description

Sweetwater Mine calcite specimens are a US classic and this is an aesthetic large combination plate. Glassy, yellow crystals are artistically isolated and scattered on the matrix with a nifty, accenting 1.5 cm galena cube. The dramatically set doubly terminated calcite is 5.3 cm long and is nearly pristine, with only trivial rubbing on the outward end. The limestone matrix is solidly covered, front and back, with sparkly tiny pyrite crystals and clusters of dolomite rhombs. A calcite on the right also has just a bit of termination rubbing. This remains a sculptural and excellent large combination example of the species and famous locality.
