Item Description

A striking and aesthetic, two-sided calcite crust from the famous Minerva # 1 Mine. A very dense jackstraw nest of well-striated, translucent, chocolate-brown to near colorless scalenohedrons comprise this fantastic looking plate. The crystals reach 4.3 cm (doubly terminated). A couple of tiny purple fluorite cubes are perched on the front and the crystals on the back side are much smaller. In great shape with only very modest periphery wear. Ex Bill Fritzler Collection and mined calculated in the early 1970s, according to one of the two dealer labels. A classic calcite form from this famous locale.
