An outstanding and sculptural calcite specimen from the extinct quarries at Mumbai. Intergrown, sharp, translucent, golden-amber calcite scalenohedrons with waxy luster are most dramatically perched on the green basalt matrix plate. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a couple of spots of trivial bruising. The base of the large calcite is cleaved, but is out-of-sight in the primary display side. The piece displays great from either side, without aid. Very choice, rare style and aesthetic Mumbai calcite from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Whitish-orange fluorescence. Value??
