Item Description
An exceptional, 7.3 cm, doubly terminated and twinned, calcite crystal is dramatically set on masssive barite matrix and fabulously accented by smaller, glassy, lighter colored calcite crystals and a small contrasting, purple fluorite crystal attached to an elongate sphalerite crystal. The gem calcite is exceptional, in that it is uniformly the gorgeous, rich golden-amber color, for which fine Elmwood calcites are renowned. Few Elmwood calcites have this rich color throughout! A bit of edgewear is noted to the golden calcite and to one termination of the smaller calcite to the left of the gold gem. But, in the overall context of this very impressive, aesthetic larger specimen, these are modest detractions. Highly representative and beautiful larger combination material from this famous and now-closed locale. Ex Consie Prince Collection. valued $1000 or more easily these days
