Item Description

Sculptural and impressive small cabinet calcite, fluorite and pyrite from this well-known Moroccan fluorite mine. Striking sharp intersecting calcite rhombs are dramatically set above a contrasting field of pretty mint-green, densely intergrown, lustrous, translucent, stepped-growth fluorite cubes. The calcite and fluorite, especially the calcites, are preferentially peppered with sparkly, brassy, spherical aggregates of pyrite microcrystals. One side of this artistic and unusual 360-degree combination is cleaved, but this remains a very fine example of this combination. Blue fluorite and red calcite fluorescence.
