Item Description

Striking, gemmy, frosted, oxide-tinted, nailhead spar calcite crystals, to 2.9 cm (doubly terminated), are dramatically clustered on the large elongated sculptural matrix covered with color-zoned, rich grape-purple fluorite cubes. The cubes are the nifty fortification style and reach 2.6 cm. The bit of noted bruising to the calcites and fluorites is certainly only a modest detraction to this showy and excellent combination from the Ross Lillie Collection, # 0491. Mined in mid-August, 1994 from pillar robbing in the main orebody, near the decline, according to Ross' label.
