An exceptionally sculptural and aesthetic combination from Mahodari, well-known source of botryoidal Indian fluorite. Two striking tiered pairs of light brown glassy, translucent, sharp dogtooth calcite crystals, to 2.8 cm, with satin lustre faces are dramatically complemented by numerous classic translucent yellow fluorite "egg yolks" with satin lustre surfaces. The surreal combination is fantastically set in the basalt vug lined with sparkling, transparent quartz points. The calcites do not fluoresce, but the fluorite egg yolks have an interesting light lime-green fluorescence under SW UV light. This amazing piece is among the most stunning, architectural and RARE combinations, with both calcite and "egg-yolk" fluorites we have seen from Mahodari. Valued at $1250-1500. Much better in person!
