An impressive, sculptural and uncommon large two-way combination specimen from this well-known Weardale mine, that closed in 1999. Calcite specimens of this richness are very uncommon from here. Glassy, translucent, strikingly stepped-growth flattened calcite rhombs dramatically sheath most of a pair of large intergrown translucent, multi-hued purple fluorite cubes. An imposing, excellent and uncommon large combination. Neon-orange and bright blue-white fluorescence!
