Item Description

An attractive elongate cluster of small stepped-growth calcite rhombs is dramatically accented with much larger, light gray, translucent rhombs, to 5.0 on edge. The largest rhomb is cleaved on the back and the attachment points on part of one side and an end are certainly only modest detractions to this showy piece, that displays well from several angles. Faint orange fluorescence. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. There are questions about the true locality, as calcites from this tephritic lava quarry are usually botryoids.
