Striking, large, very glassy, transparent to translucent, intergrown, calcite rhombs are nicely accented with a bit of sphalerite on this very fine example from the famous mines at Dal'negorsk. The impressive large rhombs reach 5.5 cm and many of the crystal faces have exceptional striations. Pristine. Dal'negorsk, like Tsumeb, is renowned for calcite quality and diversity and this is an excellent piece. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued by Herb at $500, over five years ago.
