Calcite (fluorescent) w/ Fluorapophyllite (Cynthia Payne Coll.)

Item Description

A rare, outstanding and aesthetic calcite combination from Dal'negorsk. Two distinctively different, intergrown, gem calcite crystals protect a 1.4 cm, glassy, colorlesss, pyramidal fluorapophyllite crystal partially hidden at the base and a fantastic, 9 mm, doubly terminated crystal is a super accent on the left side. Both calcites have a bit of included chorite, adding color and character. The striking upright dogtooth crystal on the left is beautifully complimented by the 4.3 cm, doubly terminated crystal on the right. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. An edge contact is noted on the upright calcite, but there is no damage, per se. This very fine and rare combination piece dates to the early-mid 1990s and is of a style available today only in recycled collections. Ex Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection. Pink fluorescence.
