Item Description

A gorgeous "knob" of sparkling minerals! Deposition of sparkling ivory-colored calcite over existing quartz has created a spectacular, large, hemispherical aggregate. Under fluorescent light the specimen exhibits a burnt orange color. Mesmerizing in both lights, it is jus tmuch better in person! there is something about the combination of the larger shape made up of seemingly countless small sparkly calcites, that appeals. It is all perched on a knob of fat quartz, from which one crystal sticks out still. Interestingly, it is partially hollow underneath, indicating this may be a calcite AFTER calcite or barite, as a cast pseudomorph, as well.
