Item Description

This is a LARGE, COMPLETE and FINE example from the fascinating Ruck's Pit discovery in Florida. Gemmy Calcite crystals grew in the natural pockets formed by buried fossil clamshells. The interior of this large shell is now completely full of these luminous, golden crystals. Ranging up to 1.3 cm, the silky luster and gemminess enhance the beauty, and the pearly-white fluorescence adds yet another dimension to the quality. Windows in each side allow a nice view into the interior. Adding even more are the contours of the shell, which look for all the world like the amazing and intricate mineral carvings often seen from China.
