Item Description

An impressive large multi-generational calcite specimen with hematite. First generation scalenohedrons are included with brick-red hematite. A striking second generation of lustrous, translucent, colorless to gray, elongated nailhead calcites overgrew the scalenohedrons. This dramatic piece looks decidedly different on both sides. The modest bit of scuffing and periphery wear (mostly on one side) are certainly only modest detractions to this imposing specimen. Highly unusual preferential neon-orange fluorescence.
