Calcite (fluorescent) and Fluorite (fluorescent)

Auglaize, noted for its glassy, zoned Fluorites, has also produced many fine Calcite specimens. This cabinet-sized cluster is composed of numerous, golden Calcites, most of which are doubly-terminated and the largest is an impressive 5.7 cm. The crystals are enhanced even more by the glassy luster, excellent color, and the gemmy terminations, not unlike the great Calcites of Elmwood. There are seveal classic, zoned Fluorites to 7 mm, and both the Calcites and Fluorites are fluorescent. On their own, the Calcites are exceptional for the locality, or anywhere else for that matter, and the Fluorites make the asthetics of this great combination piece even better.
