First-class, 5.7 cm Calcite from Grant County, New Mexico. This doubly-terminated Calcite rests on just enough matrix so it can be perfectly displayed, and the translucense is enhanced by the good luster and slightly textural surface. The brillaint red fluoresence is a good indicator that there is just a trace of manganese in the Calcite. #583 in Kay's collection, this great Calcite has survived the many years is excellent condition.
