Item Description
Dramatic and sculptural, this Calcite cluster is from the famous mines at Charcas. Highly modified, the Calcites are glassy, very finely striated, and the terminations are mostly flat and beveled, with one being trigonal. Overall, this is a very uncommon habit for Charcas Calcites, which are renowned for their more common "poker-chip" habit. The largest of the Calcites is a significant 5 cm tall, and they all have a rich, red fluorescence. This fine, aesthetic small cab was #2429 in Kay's collection.
