This is a large, sculpturally freeform specimen of calcite emplaced on a matrix knob of basalt and shooting off on top and bottom! Just plain beautiful... Dramatic and attractive! Classic material from this old basaltic deposit, and known for its beauty amidst the more famous amethysts from the region. The specimen is much larger and more three-dimensional than it may appear! As a fluorescent specimen, it is a knockout! In person it is more shaped like a "football" than a "plate" as the flat photos appear. NOTE: 10 pounds in weight
