Calcite (fluorescent)

Item Description

This is a sculpturally freeform specimen of calcite emplaced on traces of basalt. Some of the earlier formed calcite has taken on a green tint from the basalt. Later formed calcite fingers, to 2.5 cm in length, are colorless to milky and the clusters look like sea anemones. Dramatic and attractive! Classic material from this old basaltic deposit, and known for its beauty amidst the more famous amethysts from the region. Fkuorescent and stunning in the UV light!
