Item Description

A lovely old-time Charcas Calcite specimen featuring a stacked group of off-white to silvery-grey colored compressed "disc"-like crystals measuring up to about 5.0 cm across, free of matrix. The crystals show a good reddish-pink fluorescence under SW UV light, which means that they are manganese-bearing, even if they don't show much in the way of a pink color. The piece is in good shape on the front/display side, with minor imperfections that you can see under magnification. A showy display piece of these now hard to find Calcites from one of the great Mexican localities. The piece comes with a couple dealer labels from Keith Williams and the Rocksmiths.
