Item Description
Outstanding example of the classic Wessels Calcites- beautiful gemmy rhombs with deep orange fluoresence. This cluster is one of the best I have seen, as the crystals have enough size and separation to be appreciated individually, with impact for their geometries. The largest of the rhombs is 4.3 cm on edge, fantastic size for these crystals - and pristine. One of the crystals is even twinned, with the rare 'winged' overgrowth I have seen on few other twinned calcites. This is a great cabinet specimen from a famous locality, from major finds of the 1980s. It is valued at $900-1200. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
