Item Description

A gorgeous "floater" specimen of Calcite that has formed pseudomorph after a "flower"-like group of Gypsum / Selenite crystals. I love how well-preserved the crystals are on this specimen, notably sharp and not at all distorted like some pseudomorphs which can lose some of the original habit / shape of the primary species. The color is an off-white hue, with some orange-yellow iron oxide patches here and there for a nice touch. Very good quality, incredibly hard to find on the market, as not many were found. A super example of these attractive specimens from this world famous locality. From the noted pseudomorph collection of Dr. Wouter van Tichelen of Belgium.
