Item Description

China has produced a plethora of superb and unique Calcite specimens over the last 20 years, and the pieces from Wenshan are no exception. This specimen is a beautiful display piece showing a "flower" or "tree" shaped group of colorless / white, gemmy, sharp, lustrous, scalenohedral crystals in a burst-like growth. If you look at the terminations, you can see the crystals have a fantastic, deep "hoppered" / skeletal growth. They are completely open inside. This piece is in great shape overall, and truly displays well from all sides. A wonderful Calcite specimen to add to any Chinese suite or Calcite collection. Valued at $750 in the inventory.
