Item Description

A showy and uncommon combination specimen from the famous mines at Bisbee and the Dave Stoudt Bisbee Collection # 259. The sculptural, large, vuggy, limonite matrix hosts numerous well-placed "balls" of spiky, snow-white calcite. The central "ball" hosts a very nifty, 1.0 cm, "copper tree" of spinel-twinned crystals poking out one side. A few tiny, wine-red, cuprite octahedrons are scattered about on the limonite. Bright orange fluorescence for the calcite. Dave purchased this rare combination piece from Jack Youngblood in Bisbee in 1989 for $400, according to his label.
