Calcite (fine crystals) with Sphalerite

A classic combo specimen from Dalnegorsk featuring excellent, very sharp, well-formed, compressed, trigonal crystals of white/colorless Calcite measuring up to 2.2 cm across, associated with striated, jet-black, blocky Sphalerite crystals measuring up to 1.6 cm across on matrix. The piece has superb composition and aesthetics, with great form and displayability. It's one of those specimens that you can display from several angles, and it looks good no matter how you choose to show it. Nearly all of the crystals are undamaged, though a few small contacts are visible. Certainly one of the showier and eye-catching examples of this classic material from this prolific locality that we've had to offer in the auctions recently. Priced at $950.
