Item Description

A gorgeous, sharp, large, gemmy to translucent, golden-amber calcite scalenohedron from this less well-known locale. Dramatically accented with an opposing smaller crystal, the waxy luster faces have striking stepped-growth or light etching. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of bruising. An exceptional, 360-degree large example from this locale from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Collected by Bob Toland (of Green Monster Mountain, Alaska epidote fame) "on a cold January day", about 1970 according to Bob's label. The piece displays very well at an angle, without aid. Valued at $900 or more and worth it.
