Calcite (excellent classic material)

Item Description

This is a fantastic eye-catching Calcite specimen from the locality at Pau in far southwestern France. This piece features a prominent, very sharp, highly lustrous, optic grade, colorless, modified Calcite scalenohedron measuring 4.2 cm across, sitting atop additional smaller transparent, water-clear Calcite crystals on host rock matrix. This is outstanding quality for the species and the locality, from a small find few years ago. I have seen just a few on the market, from only one source, recently. This is some of the finest gem Calcite I have seen and this highly displayable specimen is one of the best we've ever had to offer. For France, this is a supremely high quality and gorgeous piece of this hard to find material.
