Calcite (ex. Willy Israel Coll.)

Item Description

A large, spectacular calcite specimen out of the collection of Willy Israel, from the greatest of all mineral localities, which turned out calcites in a dizzying array of beautiful forms, but rarely as a ball like this! The ball is actually made up of dozens of densely intergrown, individual crystals! The label (with $900 on it) shows Willy Israel to have purchased it from dealer of African minerals C.S. Queit 23 years ago. Today, I would value this rarity at more like $1,500, minimum.
