Calcite (ex Willard Wulff Collection)

Here we have a nice display piece featuring sharp, translucent, white/colorless crystals of Calcite measuring up to 5 mm on matrix. The piece is labeled as coming from "Hartz", Germany (most presumably from Harz), though no other locality is given, so we don't know if it's from St. Andreasberg or a lesser known mine. Old time material for sure, well over a century. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936.
